Friday 7th May - Alice Sea & Camila Lenhart
Alice Sea is an amazing performer and multi-instrumentalist who can keep an audience spell bound with her grace and style. With an interesting array of instruments and clever use of a loop pedal, Alice takes you on a unique journey through the continents that you won't forget
Camila Lenhart hailing from Mount Maunganui. A soulful act with a magically smooth skill for creating looped guitar, percussion and violin soundscapes with her gorgeous voice soaring on the top inspired by her Brazilian roots and other textures from around the world – the absolute perfect way to kick off the weekend!!
Friday 14th May Mandy Meadows Band
Mandy Meadows Band, a jazz band lead by singer Mandy Meadows.
Mandy Meadows, a New Zealand Jazz, Pop and Cabaret singer, has just returned from 5 years in London performing in luxury hotels such as the Savoy, Dorchester, and Harrods among many others. Notable performances include Ronnie Scott's, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Royal Albert Hall.
Mandy recorded her album of jazz standards “Oceania” in Brooklyn, NYC in 2015 with “The Queen’s Cartoonists”.
Mandy is delighted to have now returned home, collaborating with excellent local talent to bring the joy of Jazz to NZ and we're excited to have her performing for us.
Friday 21st May – Estère
Estère doesn’t play music - she creates sonic amalgamations that merge culture, language and legend. Her vocals soar and then swoon, beckoning sultrily and opening gates to new interpretations of age-old tales. Estère plays ‘electric blue witch-hop,” as she calls her dimensions of electronic, folk and R&B. The New Zealand Herald called it “a beautiful mix of everything the music world is lauding and lusting after right now.”
Estère began her journey as a bedroom producer with an MPC called Lola. Her first album, ‘Estère’, released in 2015 via Paris-based record label Prospect, earned her accolades from prominent media outlets. Estère’s second album ‘My Design, On Others’ Lives’ was championed by Radio NZ as “an exceptional record.” Afropunk called it “an immersive experience unlike anything you’ve ever witnessed.”
Estère has brought her unique live show - she plays guitar, keyboards, drums - to Europe, Africa and Asia, including slots opening for Grace Jones and Erykah Badu. Estère’s onstage talent and energy has earned her invitations to international festivals.
Estère has been twice nominated for NZ Music Awards, including Best Producer (2018) and Critics Choice Award (2015).
Friday 28th May – Georgia Lines
Independent New Zealand artist Georgia Lines fills spaces with her soulful, dream-like vocals and distinctive feel-good R&B-sprinkled-pop.
She has already received over 1.5 million streams for her debut EP; been on major Spotify playlists; and had significant local and global attention.
Georgia has an impressive ability to create a catchy melody that links to her lyrics like a perfect puzzle.
Like all great artists, Georgia Lines makes music that authentically illuminates what it means to be human. This is why it’s inspiring listeners to hit repeat and head to her shows.
