It is situated at the foot of Mount Maunganui (Mauao), from which the area takes its name. The land area of “The Mount” is a narrow peninsula that separates the sheltered waters of Tauranga Harbour and the pristine white sand beaches lapped by the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.
