Welcome to Mount Maunganui
Mount Mainstreet Shopping Centre is the main shopping area of Downtown Mount Maunganui, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.
It is situated at the foot of Mount Maunganui (Mauao), from which the area takes its name. The land area of “The Mount” is a narrow peninsula that separates the sheltered waters of Tauranga Harbour and the pristine white sand beaches lapped by the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The shopping centre is 200 metres walking distance from Pilot Bay and the area where the cruise ships berth. Here you will discover a range of boutique shops, exquisite souvenir and gift ware, along with bars cafés and restaurants to cater for all tastes. Tall phoenix palms provide a relaxed clean green environment for outdoor dining and relaxation, while warm smiling faces welcome you to this special part of paradise.
Just a short stroll from the shopping centre stands the majestic Mauao providing easy walking tracks and a spectacular view of the eastern coastline from its summit. On the eastern side of the peninsula lie world recognised surf beaches and soft sand where many national and international water sports competitions take place.
